Our Training Program
Our comprehensive program gives students an average of 240 hours of training in the vehicle and classroom, providing you with everything needed to pass the Texas CDL Exam and start your career as a professional truck driver. In addition to well-equipped classrooms for lessons and discussions, we offer extended demonstrations as well as “live” yard and road training. Regardless of the type of learner you are, this hybrid approach will help you grasp complicated instruction and pass your CDL test.
What Will I Learn?
You will spend time on-site, behind the wheels of well-maintained, conventional tractor-trailer vehicles before hitting the road. During training, you will learn the basics of driving, turning, backing up, maneuvering, and changing lanes.
While travel is an exciting part of trucking, there is bookwork that needs to be done as well. Instructors will teach topics such as map reading, GPS, rules of the road (written & unwritten), logbooks, state and federal regulations, ideal business practices (scheduling, routes, organization), and of course safety.
Safety
Safety is always the top priority at Driving Force Trucking. We follow and teach all federal requirements per OSHA and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and state requirements specific to Texas.
As a student in our driving school program, you will learn how to perform various vehicle safety protocols including, vehicle control, recovery and accident procedures, hazardous material rules, and more. We offer more training than most trucking schools to better position you to obtain that all-important CDL so you can be a safe and professional truck driver.
